NonViolent Communication (NVC)

What to do when my loved one is lying to my face?

By 11 May 2021No Comments

Have you ever asked yourself this question?

Or have you ever been in situations that made you doubt the truth of what your loved one is saying?

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I think he/she is lying!”?

Beyond calling out liars, beyond breaking things apart and analyzing the situation, there is the option of asking our loved ones to share more of their truth. Here’s how:

  • By stating clearly and openly with a request “I would like to share in more truth with you” —> sharing the necessity of this important value you hold; and,
  • By being sure there is space in the relationship for that truth —> what favourable conditions can you create and offer so the other person would want to share their truth.

Our trainer Guillaume Lanctôt-Bédard shared about this in the video here during a presentation on “Calling Bull$h*t to Build Trust” with our trainers Julia Wight and Clotilde Paulin.

It will be our pleasure to support your understanding of NonViolent Communication (NVC) and help you build trusting and compassionate relationships.
